A group of current and emerging NZ Response Team leaders came together in Upper Hutt from 31 July to 2 August for the NZRT Leadership Course, delivered by the Wellington Region Emergency Management Office (WREMO).
Held at Trentham Military Camp and locations around Upper Hutt, the course brought together participants from Palmerston North, Wellington, Upper Hutt and Victoria University for three days of hands-on learning, leadership challenges and real-world scenarios.
With support from LandSAR’s experienced instructors, participants put their skills to the test through practical exercises focused on communication, decision-making and team leadership. The training was designed to build confidence and prepare leaders to make sound decisions in quickly moving and often unpredictable environments that come with emergency response.
A big thank you goes to Julie and the WREMO Capability Development Team, whose hard work in partnership with LandSAR helped make the course such a success.
And thanks to NZRT 4 Palmerston North City, NZRT 7 Victoria University Team, NZRT 8 Wellington City and NZRT 9 Upper Hutt City for joining us for this mahi.
